洛杉磯天使隊日籍二刀流球星大谷翔平，繼昨天對堪薩斯皇家單場打出2支3分砲，創下生涯新高的8分打點後，今天馬上以先發投手第二棒持續出戰皇家，是本季第12場先發二刀流出賽，結果他先發8局投出生涯新高的13次三振，沒有失分，自己打擊還貢獻1支安打以及1次保送，終場天使隊以5比0擊敗皇家，大谷拿下本季第6勝。
第2局跟第4局，大谷翔平都用三振解決對方打者，13次三振中，其中有5名打者被滑球三振，拿手的「惡魔指叉球」跟曲球都分別三振3名打者，另外直球跟卡特球也各貢獻1次三振。
大谷上一場單場雙響8打點，今天又投出8局無失分好投，等於「一人救天使」，幫助天使終止2連敗。
